How it works Open any news article, click the extension icon, and hit "Analyze". The extension extracts the article text and runs it through four independent checks: • AI Classifier - a fine-tuned DistilBERT model trained on thousands of real and fake news articles gives a credibility score • Source Reputation — checks the article's domain against a curated database of reliable and unreliable news sources • Linguistic Analysis — detects sensationalist language, vague sourcing, conspiracy rhetoric, and headline inconsistencies • Cross-Source Verification — searches Google News to find whether other reputable outlets are reporting the same story All four signals are combined into a single verdict: REAL or FAKE, with a confidence percentage and a breakdown of what each module found. Privacy Article text is sent to the server solely to perform the credibility check. No personal data, browsing history, or account information is collected or stored.
