Description
Helps you retrieve and copy your Rust+ token for RustDOCK. What it is: a small helper extension that gets the user their own Rust+ pairing token from the official Facepunch companion site and makes it easy to copy for use in RustDock. Problem it solves: the Facepunch site hands off the pairing token via window.ReactNativeWebView.postMessage(...) — a bridge that only exists inside the Rust+ mobile app's WebView. A regular desktop browser has no such bridge, so the call fails silently and the token is only visible as a console error. How it works: The popup opens the official Facepunch login page (companion-rust.facepunch.com/login) without altering its UI. After Steam sign-in, the page lands on /app and tries to post the token through the (nonexistent) ReactNativeWebView bridge. hook.js, injected in the page's MAIN world at document_start, installs that bridge so the payload {"SteamId":"…","Token":"…"} is captured instead of lost. If the page prints the payload into the DOM instead, there's a fallback scan for it. The token is kept in chrome.storage.session (browser memory only, cleared when Chrome closes), and the toolbar popup opens automatically showing the token with a copy button. Localized into English, Russian, Ukrainian, and Polish — selected automatically from the browser's UI language. Permissions (minimal): storage clipboardWrite host_permissions: only https://companion-rust.facepunch.com/* No remote servers are involved — nothing is sent anywhere; the token only leaves the browser when the user explicitly copies it. Privacy: SteamID is used only to validate the payload and is never stored or displayed. A "Remove token" button wipes it instantly.
