Control every audible browser tab — YouTube, podcasts, web radio — from one focused cockpit. Sonora is one popup that controls every tab currently making noise. Music in one tab, a podcast in another, a video you forgot about in a third — instead of hunting through windows to find the one that's playing, open Sonora and see them all in a single list. Play, pause, seek, adjust volume, or mute any of them without leaving the page you're on. WHAT IT DOES • Live list of every audible tab, in browser tab order, with what's playing • Play / pause / seek / volume / mute on any source, from one place • Command palette for keyboard-driven control • Keyboard shortcuts — Alt+M to toggle playback, Alt+S to switch source • Audio output routing: send a tab's sound to a specific device • Badge showing how many sources are currently playing OPTIONAL macOS COMPANION Sonora pairs with HeadsetCompanion, a small free menu-bar app for macOS that shows your Bluetooth headset's real battery level in the popup and lets your headset's play/pause and track buttons drive Sonora directly. It runs entirely on your own machine and talks to the extension over localhost only. The extension works fine without it — it simply shows "Bridge offline". Download: https://github.com/YamineRL/sonora/releases/latest PRIVACY Sonora collects nothing. No analytics, no tracking, no accounts, no data of any kind leaves your computer. The only network requests the extension ever makes go to 127.0.0.1 — your own machine — to read the headset battery level from the optional companion app, and to listen for your headset's button presses. Sonora needs access to all sites because media can play on any site, and the extension has to be able to control the player on whichever tab you choose. It reads the audio and video elements on a page to control playback, and nothing else. OPEN SOURCE Sonora is free and open source.
