Temporarily pin a selected region or selected text to a Picture-in-Picture window. Temporarily show a selected region or selected text in an always-on-top Picture-in-Picture window. ■ What it does - Drag to select part of a page, and that part becomes a small window - Select text, right-click, and get a window with just that text - The window stays even after you close the tab it came from ■ Good for - Typing values from a table or a settings page into another screen - Keeping a short piece of information you look back at again and again ■ How it behaves - What you see is a screenshot taken at the moment you selected it. The contents do not update on their own. - Chrome allows only one PiP at a time. Opening a new one closes the previous one. - To keep the PiP alive, ClipPiP opens one pinned tab. It closes automatically when you close the PiP. - Requires Chrome 116 or later. ■ Privacy - Captured images and text are never sent anywhere. - They are not saved either. They stay in browser memory only while shown, and are gone once you close the browser. - No permission to access specific sites is requested. Access is granted only to the tab you act on, each time you act. ■ How to use 1. Click the toolbar icon and choose "Select an area", or use the right-click menu 2. Drag over the region you want to show 3. The PiP window appears in front You can also set a keyboard shortcut. None is assigned by default. Assign one at chrome://extensions/shortcuts
