Check that application fields kept the answers you pasted. Local recovery, with sites enabled only by you. PasteLatch catches text that goes missing or changes when you paste an approved answer into an application field. Built for grant-writing consultants and nonprofit staff moving plain-text narratives from documents into application portals. Enable checks on the site you choose, paste normally, and inspect the result. If a field accepts only part of your answer or a page script changes it, PasteLatch shows the difference and keeps the original paste available for local recovery. • Compare the intended text with the text currently visible in supported text inputs and textareas. • See missing and changed text, including losses caused by character limits. • Handle pastes at the cursor or over selected text. • Review temporary recovery copies and copy the original yourself. • Enable or disable checks explicitly and delete recovery records. • Try a synthetic grant-narrative demo before using it in your workflow. Your text is processed on your device for checking and recovery. PasteLatch reads your deliberate paste and the affected field, along with the site origin, a field label, and check times. It does not read the clipboard in the background, upload application text, use AI services, or send telemetry. Recovery is kept in browser-session memory and clears when Chrome restarts or the extension is disabled, reloaded, or updated. You can delete it sooner. Site settings remain local. At most 30 recent checks and approximately 4 MB are retained; individual pastes/fields are limited to 50,000 UTF-16 units. PasteLatch checks transfer integrity. It does not rewrite answers, change them automatically, submit applications, bypass character limits, or determine eligibility. A matching visible field is not proof that the portal saved or submitted it. Save through the portal, reopen the form or inspect its preview, and compare with your source yourself. Version 1 supports standard top-level plain-text inputs and textareas. Rich text, contenteditable, embedded frames, PDFs, browser-internal pages, and custom portal controls are unsupported. Identifiable password, payment and authentication fields are excluded; no extension can infer all text sensitivity. Only paste narrative text you want checked. Intentional typing/deleting and native reset controls end the field watch. Navigation or field replacement also ends it. Custom script-driven clear or reformat controls may be reported as field changes. Observable changes are checked after paste/input/blur and periodically while visible; transient changes may be missed. Open recovery to confirm that a paste was actually observed. Compatibility with a particular authenticated grant portal, reopened form, portal preview, backend save or submission is not claimed. Demo and release screenshots use synthetic data.
