WHAT IT CAPTURES • Markdown of the current tab (clean article text, links preserved) • Visible-tab screenshots • A region of the page you drag-select • A desktop window or monitor (not just browser tabs) • Anything you've saved as a reusable prompt HOW IT DELIVERS SideWire pastes captures directly into the active provider's composer. Your conversation stays on the provider's site — SideWire only acts as a fast input pipeline. LOCAL CHAT (NEW IN 0.5) For private work, switch to Local. SideWire talks to Gemini Nano running entirely on your device, when Chrome supports it. Features: • Persistent conversations with a slide-in sidebar (Today / Yesterday / Previous 7 days / Previous 30 days / Older) • Markdown rendering, copy & retry on assistant replies, edit pencil on your last message • Long pastes (>1500 chars or >15 lines) auto-collapse into an attachment chip — like in Claude.ai • Paperclip to attach image and text files the model can actually read • Auto-compress: when the small on-device context window fills past 75%, SideWire summarizes the older turns into a single note so the conversation keeps flowing • Top-right indicator shows live context usage, amber at 75%, red at 90% KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS • Alt+Shift+S — capture screen / window • Alt+Shift+T — capture the visible tab • Alt+Shift+P — open saved prompts • Alt+Shift+A — toggle the floating widget on AI sites PRIVACY • Local chat conversations never leave your machine. • Cloud providers (Claude / ChatGPT / Perplexity / Gemini) receive only what you explicitly send. • No analytics, no third-party trackers.
