Dark Mode for Google Docs, Sheets & Slides gives you a comfortable dark theme across Google's editors so you can work late, reduce eye strain, and match the rest of your dark-themed browser and OS. Features • One-click toggle per app - enable dark mode on Docs, Sheets, or Slides independently. • Choose your scope for each app - "Everything" darkens the whole app including the document, or "Menus only" keeps your document, grid, and slides (Slides thumbnails included) in their true colors while darkening the menus, toolbars, and sidebars. • Accurate colors in "Menus only" - color pickers show real colors (a red swatch looks red, not cyan), and your slides, images, and charts keep their true colors. • Preserves hues - blue Share buttons stay blue, red highlights stay red, only brightness is inverted. • Enable all / Disable all - flip every app at once from the popup. • Popup matches your system theme - light in light mode, dark in dark mode. • Remembers your preferences across devices using Chrome sync. • Instant on/off - changes apply live in open tabs with no reload required in most cases. How to use 1. Click the extension icon in your toolbar. 2. Flip the toggle for Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides, then pick "Menus only" or "Everything". 3. Open or switch to a Google editor tab - dark mode appears immediately. Privacy This extension does not collect, sell, or transmit any user data. The only information stored is your on/off preference per app, saved locally and synced to your Google account via Chrome's built-in storage API. The extension only runs on docs.google.com. Notes In "Everything" scope, because Google Docs renders pages onto a canvas, images inserted inside a Docs page will appear color-inverted - a known limitation of any filter-based dark mode for Google Docs. If that bothers you, switch that app to "Menus only," which keeps the document (and its images) in true colors while still darkening the surrounding interface.
