Turns patent numbers into clickable PatSnap search links on any webpage. PatSnap Patent Linker is a lightweight browser extension for patent professionals. It scans any webpage you visit and automatically turns patent numbers into one-click links to PatSnap Analytics search results — so you can jump straight from a patent list, legal notice, news article, or research paper into PatSnap without copying and pasting. How it works As you browse any website outside of PatSnap, the extension quietly scans page text in the background. When it finds a patent number, it adds a subtle dotted underline — the text itself is unchanged. Hover over any underlined patent number to see a PatSnap tooltip, then click to open the search results in a new tab. Right-click any highlighted text on any page to search PatSnap directly. Recognised patent formats The extension intelligently handles the full range of ways patent numbers appear in the real world: — Standard granted patents: US9,367,087 · US9367087 · US7,654,321 B2 — US patent applications: US2003/0123456 A1 — Design patents: USD796,447 · USD707,148 — Reissue patents: USRE12345 · US RE 45,678 — Plant patents: USPP12345 · US PP 9,876 — PCT / WIPO applications: WO2021/123456 A1 — European patents: EP3269610A1 · EP 0 575 519 — Chinese patents: CN120596640B — Japanese patents: JP2017529269A — Korean, German, French, GB, AU, CA and 25+ other jurisdictions — Prose references: U.S. Patent No. 7,654,321 · U.S. Pat. No. 7,654,321 — Plain number lists: 4,833,543 · 5,291,284 Key features — Works on every website except PatSnap.com itself — Non-intrusive — no colours changed, no bold text, just a faint dotted underline — Hover tooltip shows the PatSnap logo so you always know what you're clicking into — Right-click any selected text to search PatSnap instantly — Handles dynamically loaded content and single-page applications Privacy This extension does not collect, transmit, or store any data. It reads page text solely to detect patent numbers and operates entirely within your browser. No analytics, no tracking, no third-party services.
