Anonymize selected text and get live PII warnings in AI chats and webmail — processed on-device by the DataAnonymiser app. DataAnonymiser strips personal information out of text before it goes into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or webmail, entirely on your own machine. This extension never talks to any server. It connects to the DataAnonymiser desktop app over your computer's own loopback connection, so your text is anonymized by the app's local model without ever leaving your device. What it does • Anonymize on demand, select any text on a page, click the toolbar icon, and get back a safe version with names, emails, phone numbers, and other identifiers replaced by placeholders. Copy it straight into your prompt. • Live PII warnings, while you type in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Gmail, or Outlook, the extension quietly checks for personal information and shows a non-blocking warning with a one-click "Anonymise" fix, right in the field you're typing in. How your data stays private • All anonymization happens on your computer, using the DataAnonymiser desktop app's local model, not a cloud API. • The extension only talks to your own machine and the sites it watches for live warnings, never to any DataAnonymiser server or third party. • Original, unredacted text is never stored by the extension and never leaves the desktop app. • A pairing token (set up once in the desktop app's settings) is required before the extension can connect, nothing works until you deliberately pair it.
