Unlike many brightly colored birds, both male and female Cardinals sing, often heard delivering their loud, sweet whistles year-round. We observe his strong, dark legs providing a firm footing as he prepares to drink or bathe, highlighting his status as a permanent, non-migratory resident of backyards and woodlands.
