Copy structured context from Instagram Direct. DM2Text is a local-first browser extension for copying clean, structured context from Instagram Direct. It adds a native-looking “Copy context” action to message menus. Select the last message you want to include, choose how many previous messages to collect, and DM2Text creates a chronological transcript on your clipboard. DM2Text preserves visible conversation context including: • Senders and timestamps • Reply relationships • Text messages • Images and media labels • Shared posts and captions • Emoji and Meta AI responses when available Instagram uses a virtualized message history, so older messages may not initially exist in the page. DM2Text automatically collects older visible history while keeping your selected message as a fixed endpoint. Privacy is a core design constraint. Conversation content is processed locally in the browser, is not persisted by DM2Text, and the extension does not initiate network requests. The only intentional output is the transcript you request on your clipboard. DM2Text also supports cancellation, partial-copy confirmation when the full requested history cannot be loaded, and best-effort restoration of your previous chat position.
