Automatically protects open webpages when you step away from your computer. Privacy blur automatically covers webpages when you step away or stop interacting, helping keep on-screen information out of casual view. Use it when working with confidential documents, personal information, messages, or other sensitive webpages. Core features run locally on your device. Privacy blur contains no advertising or analytics and does not send data to external APIs or servers. Key features • Automatic protection triggered by page inactivity, computer inactivity, pointer exit, window focus loss, or tab switching • Configurable timers from 1 second to 7 days for page inactivity and 15 seconds to 7 days for computer inactivity • Five protection styles: smoke and blur, black screen, white screen, cursor focus, or a custom local background image • Adjustable blur, dimming, grayscale, colors, message, and visible focus area • Three protected-screen UI modes: center guidance, unlock button only, or no on-screen controls • Protection across open tabs, with the option to unlock all tabs or only the current tab • Schedules by day and time, website exclusions, and pauses from 1 minute to 7 days • Persistent masking for webpage elements selected by the user • Optional 4–12 character unlock password, five-attempt protection, and configurable re-entry grace period • Japanese, English, or system-language display • Keyboard shortcut and settings import/export Before you install • Chrome internal pages, the New Tab page, and the Chrome Web Store cannot be protected because Chrome does not allow extensions to run on those pages. • Privacy blur protects webpages only. It does not lock the operating system or other applications. Use your operating system screen lock for high-security situations. • The optional unlock password is a convenience feature. It cannot prevent someone from disabling or removing the extension through Chrome's extension management page. • Saved element masks may stop matching if a website changes its page structure.
