Convert files locally in Chrome, with an optional Mac app for Office and media conversions. No cloud uploads. Format Forge converts files locally on your device. Common image, PDF and structured-data conversions run directly in Chrome, such as changing an image’s format, rendering PDF pages as images and converting table data between common formats. For conversions that require desktop software, the optional Format Forge Mac app acts as a Local Engine. It uses conversion tools installed on your Mac for Office documents, audio and video. The extension clearly shows which conversions run in Chrome and which require the Mac app. Files are not sent to Glossity Labs or a cloud conversion service. Format Forge has no accounts, advertising, analytics or developer-operated conversion API. Source files and converted results remain on the user’s device. Format Forge is open-source software licensed under Apache License 2.0.
