A mindful browser extension to pause, reflect, and rebuild your focus. SimpleBlocker is a mindful browser extension designed to help you pause, reflect, and rebuild your focus — without guilt, pressure, or aggressive blocking. Most site blockers rely on force: harsh “access denied” screens, rigid rules, or punishment-based systems that feel controlling. SimpleBlocker takes a different approach. Instead of stopping you outright, it creates a moment of awareness — a pause that helps you notice why you’re opening a distracting site and decide intentionally what to do next. When you visit a blocked site, SimpleBlocker gently interrupts with a calm overlay asking a simple question: “What pulled you here just now?” You choose a reason — boredom, habit, avoiding a task, seeking a quick dopamine hit, or a genuine need. From there, you can either close the tab (a mindful win) or intentionally allow limited access. There’s no shame, no lectures, and no loss of control — only a clear decision point. Mindful Wins, Not Punishment Every time you choose to close a distracting tab, SimpleBlocker records a Mindful Win. These wins aren’t streaks or pressure metrics — they’re quiet reminders that you noticed an urge and chose differently. Over time, you can see how often you successfully postponed distractions and how much focus you protected. Insight Without Obsession SimpleBlocker tracks patterns, not behavior details. You can view simple stats showing: How many urges you postponed Your most common distraction triggers An estimated amount of focus time you protected There are no leaderboards, productivity scores, or anxiety-inducing graphs — just gentle insight that helps you understand yourself better. Built to Prevent Relapse Loops If you reopen a blocked site shortly after closing it, SimpleBlocker steps in with a quiet reminder and automatically closes the tab. This prevents frustration-driven loops while reinforcing the choice you already made. Private by Design All data stays entirely on your device. Your browsing history, reasons, and stats never leave your browser and are never shared or synced anywhere. Who SimpleBlocker Is For People who want to reduce distractions without feeling controlled Anyone tired of guilt-based productivity tools Users who value awareness, autonomy, and long-term habit change What SimpleBlocker Is Not A productivity scorekeeper A strict parental-control blocker A tool that shames or pressures you SimpleBlocker doesn’t try to force discipline. It helps you build it naturally — one pause at a time.
