Read posts, threads, replies, quotes, and articles in a slide-in panel without leaving your X/Twitter home timeline. Homeread is a slide-in reader for X/Twitter Home, Search, and Bookmarks. Click a post on those pages and read the thread, replies, quoted posts, media, translations, and long-form article text without leaving the page. How it works • On Home, turn Homeread on with the toggle under the left-rail logo. That toggle is home-only and does not appear on Search or Bookmarks. • Click a post on Home, Search, or Bookmarks. A panel slides in over the current page. • Scroll the panel to follow the thread and load more replies. • Close it with Escape, the close button, or the backdrop. What you can read • Thread chains from the original post through later posts in the same conversation • Replies, quoted posts, photos, video, GIFs, and long-form notes • Verified badges and reply / repost / like / view counts • On-demand translations when X marks a post as translatable Where it runs • Home (/ and /home), Search (/search), and Bookmarks (/i/history, plus the legacy /i/bookmarks URL) • The left-rail Homeread toggle stays on Home only • Promoted posts are skipped and never open in the reader • Profiles, status pages, explore, notifications, and other History tabs (for example Likes) are not intercepted Controls • Dock the panel on the left or right • Regular or expanded width • Auto, light, or dark theme (auto follows the page) Privacy Homeread does not collect, sell, or share personal data. Preferences stay in Chrome local storage. Post data is requested from X/Twitter with your existing logged-in session and is not sent to the developer. Homeread is an independent project.
