Local, telemetry-free bridge that lets AI agents drive your real browser via the Chrome DevTools Protocol. Open WebBridge lets your own AI assistant operate the browser you already use, with the sessions you are already signed in to. It is a bridge, not an agent. A small open-source program runs on your computer, and this extension carries out the page instructions it sends: open a page, read its structure, click, type, fill and submit forms, capture a screenshot or a PDF, record network activity, manage downloads. Because the work happens in your real browser profile, your assistant reaches internal dashboards, admin consoles and web mail without new logins or API keys. WHAT IT DOES • Reads pages through the accessibility tree, so your assistant targets elements by meaning instead of brittle CSS selectors that break on every redesign. • Dispatches real mouse and keyboard input through the DevTools Protocol, which clears checks that reject synthetic clicks. • Works inside cross-origin iframes, not only the top-level page. • Captures full-page or single-element screenshots, and exports pages to PDF. • Records network requests and responses; emulates screen size, user agent and geolocation. • Isolates independent tasks in separate tab groups, so several can run at once without interfering. • Handles native alert/confirm/prompt dialogs automatically, so a task never stalls. POINT AT WHAT IS WRONG Turn annotation mode on (toolbar button, or Alt+Shift+A), click any element on the page, and attach a comment. Your assistant reads those comments back with a selector it can act on and a picture of the element — so "this button is broken" points at something exact instead of being described in prose. It marks each note handled and replies on the note itself, which you see right on the page. PRIVACY Nothing leaves your machine. The extension connects only to the companion program on 127.0.0.1. There is no analytics, no telemetry, and no remote endpoint anywhere in the code. It collects no user data. OPEN SOURCE Source: https://github.com/zhizuzhefu/open-webbridge (AGPL-3.0).
