A clean start page for bookmarks, frequently visited sites, recently closed tabs, Reading List, and custom backgrounds. Safari Style New Tab replaces Chrome's default new tab page with a local start page that keeps everyday browsing shortcuts organized and easy to scan. Main features: - Shows Chrome bookmarks with folder browsing. - Shows Chrome's native most visited sites. If native data is unavailable, the extension can keep a local visit-count fallback. - Lets users pin frequently visited sites, hide sites, and manually add sites that should always be shown. - Shows recently closed tabs and windows. Closed windows are grouped, and users can restore a whole window or open one tab. - Shows Chrome Reading List items, with actions to mark items as read or remove them. - Supports English and Simplified Chinese, following the Chrome/system language. - Shows a first-use tip for Chrome's own new-tab footer and reserves space for that footer. - Supports built-in backgrounds, local images, and Bing daily wallpapers. - Local images can be selected one by one or from the Downloads folder on Windows and macOS. - Bing wallpapers can be fetched manually and can update automatically each day after being selected. - Supports background overlay strength and section visibility toggles. - Includes a focus mode that hides page content for viewing the background. It can be toggled with the eye button, the `H` key, or the extension shortcut. - Fetches site-declared high-resolution icons, preferring Apple Touch Icon and Web App Manifest icons, and lets users clear and refresh the icon cache. Privacy: All bookmarks, recently closed sessions, Reading List data, background images, settings, visit-count fallback data, and icon cache data stay in the user's local browser storage. The extension does not upload browsing data, does not use remote code, and does not include third-party analytics.
