Translate selected text and read it aloud with Chrome's built-in on-device AI — or dub YouTube videos into your language. WATCH ANY VIDEO IN YOUR LANGUAGE — ONE CLICK, NOTHING LEAVES YOUR MACHINE Many of the best YouTube Videos, tutorials and talks are hard to follow because of language. VoiceOne fixes that in the player itself: press the VoiceOne button and the speaker's audio ducks down while a clear voice narrates the video in the language you choose — synchronized, translated on your device by Chrome's built-in AI. No downloads, no external services, no waiting. 🎓 ONE-CLICK DUBBING ON YOUTUBE - Works right inside the video player — original audio stays quietly underneath - Switch target language live from the on-page panel - Uses the video's captions; videos already captioned in your language skip translation entirely - Enable it per site — VoiceOne never asks for blanket access to your browsing 🌍 TRANSLATE AND READ ALOUD ANYWHERE - Select text on any page or PDF → right-click → VoiceOne - Auto-detects the source language, translates on-device, reads it aloud - Floating panel with pause, resume and repeat, and a draggable header 🔒 PRIVATE BY DESIGN - Translation and speech run locally, using Chrome's built-in Translator and TTS - No account, no cloud, no analytics - Minimal permissions — per-site access only, nothing more - Open source: github.com/RohitWaghire/VoiceOne (see PRIVACY.md) HOW IT WORKS 1. Install VoiceOne from the Chrome Web Store 2. Open any YouTube video and press play 3. Click the VoiceOne button in the player controls 4. Pick your language — dubbing starts immediately No configuration and no sign-up. For text anywhere else on the web, select it, right-click, and choose VoiceOne. WHO IT'S FOR - Students — follow lectures, tutorials and courses from anywhere in the world - Professionals — international conferences, seminars and industry talks - Language learners — hear the original and the translation side by side - Commuters and multitaskers — turn long videos and articles into listening - Accessibility — less reading load for screen fatigue, dyslexia and low vision WHY VOICEONE Compared to subtitles: - Hands-free — nothing to read - Your eyes stay on the video instead of the bottom of the screen - Works while you take notes, cook, commute or do something else - Less eye strain on long videos Compared to other dubbing tools: - Nothing to upload and nothing to wait for — it runs as the video plays - Native YouTube integration instead of a separate site or player - Free, with no subscription and no hidden costs - No account and no data sharing REQUIREMENTS - Chrome 138 or later - Chrome's built-in language models download once, on first use FAQ Is VoiceOne free? Yes — free to use, with no subscription, no account and no usage limits. Does anything leave my computer? No. Translation and speech both run locally through Chrome's built-in AI. There is no server to send your audio or text to. Which languages are supported? Every language pair supported by Chrome's built-in Translator, and you can add the ones that are not their through settings. Does it work on videos without captions? VoiceOne dubs from the video's caption track, so a video needs captions — auto-generated captions count — for dubbing to work. Why does the first video take a moment? Chrome downloads the language model for your chosen language the first time you use it. After that it is instant, and works offline. Do I have to give VoiceOne access to all my browsing? No. You enable it per site. SUPPORT Found a bug, or want a language added?
