Shows your Epic and Steam libraries on store pages so you never buy a game you already own. Scans both Epic and Steam. Never buy the same PC game twice! "Already Own?" is a smart, privacy-first library checker that helps you track your games across different platforms. It scans your libraries in seconds and displays a clear badge on store pages when you are about to buy something you already own elsewhere. Perfect for gamers who collect free weekly games, buy bundle deals, or simply have a massive digital backlog across multiple stores. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open the extension popup and go to the "Scan" tab. 2. Click to scan your libraries (fully automated, no manual typing or API keys required). 3. Browse PC game stores normally. A badge will appear right above the buy button whenever a match is found. The badge shows the matched title, where you own it, and the confidence level: - Exact match - titles are identical. - Title match - one title contains the other (handles subtitles and editions). - Likely match - 75%+ word overlap. KEY FEATURES - Multi-Store Support - Links your Epic Games and Steam collections to prevent accidental purchases. - Smart Fuzzy Matching - Handles punctuation differences, trademark symbols, subtitles, and regional name variants. - Fast Background Scan - Reads your game list in seconds using your active browser session (no API keys, no rate limits for Steam profile scan). - Configurable Matching - Choose which confidence levels trigger a badge: exact, partial (subtitle variants), or fuzzy. - Multi-Language UI - Available in English, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Latin America), Polish, Turkish, and Ukrainian. - Manual Library - Easily add any games that the scanner missed. - Custom Ignore List - Permanently dismiss false positives; they will be skipped in future scans. - Export / Import - Back up and restore your entire library as a local JSON file. - 100% Local - Your data never leaves your machine. No servers, no accounts, no tracking. PRIVACY FIRST No data leaves your computer. Ever. The extension uses chrome.storage.local to save your game list locally. It communicates with stores only during an active scan, using your existing browser session -- the exact same requests your browser already makes when you visit those websites. No accounts, no sign-ins, no third-party servers, no analytics, and no tracking. PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED - storage: Saves your game library and settings locally in Chrome. - scripting: Injects the ownership badge directly onto store pages. - tabs: Opens a temporary background tab to read your games list (automatically closed immediately after scanning). - cookies: Reads your existing store session to authenticate scan requests; cookies are never stored, saved, or transmitted anywhere.
