Override CSS and JavaScript copy/paste/selection blockers on any website. CopyUnlock removes the most common ways websites prevent you from copying, pasting, selecting, or autofilling. What it does Forces text selection on pages that use user-select: none to block highlighting. Neutralises JavaScript handlers that intercept copy, cut, paste, right-click, drag, and selection events. Strips clipboard hijacking — pasting only gives you what you selected, never an appended "Read more at example.com". Unlocks paste on form fields where sites block it (banking signup, competitor-restricted shop fields, etc.). Re-enables autofill: clears autocomplete="off" and password-manager opt-out attributes (data-lpignore, data-1p-ignore, data-bwignore). Removes transparent overlay elements that block selection on news sites. Pulls focus back from off-screen iframes that hijack keyboard shortcuts (a common Shopify-theme issue with Lite-YouTube embeds). How it works On-demand by default: click the toolbar icon or press Ctrl+Shift+U (Cmd+Shift+U on Mac) to activate the extension on the current tab. Always-on mode is opt-in: enable it in the popup to have CopyUnlock run automatically on every page. This requires granting access to all sites; the extension makes no network requests and stores nothing remotely. What it does NOT do Does not bypass DRM, encrypted media, or canvas-rendered text. Out of scope. Does not exfiltrate page content — zero network requests. Does not modify password fields with autocomplete="new-password" (that's a legitimate signup-form signal).
