AI-powered moderation assistant for Nextdoor community moderators Nextdoor Moderator Assistant helps community moderators make faster, more consistent decisions by analyzing flagged posts against Nextdoor's official community guidelines using an AI model you configure. When you review a flagged post in the Nextdoor moderation queue, the extension reads the post, its conversation thread, the report tags, and the current vote counts already shown on the page, and sends them to the AI provider you choose (OpenAI or Anthropic, using your own API key). It returns an independent, color-coded recommendation — Keep, Maybe Remove, or Remove — with reasoning that cites the specific guideline at issue, plus a ready-to-use moderator comment. FEATURES • A dedicated Chrome side panel with three tabs — Review, Post Panel, and Settings — that stays docked next to Nextdoor instead of overlapping the page. • Review tab — auto-loads the currently-open flagged post's report data and produces a clear recommendation with guideline-based reasoning. • Post Panel tab — on any open post: full thread preview, in-context AI chat, a violation scan, and comment drafting. • AI Chat — ask follow-up questions about a post; the full thread stays in scope. • Poll/survey support. • Per-provider API keys — OpenAI and Anthropic keys are stored separately and restored automatically when you switch providers. • The active provider and model are always shown in the panel header, so it's clear which model produced any given analysis. PRIVACY • Your API keys are stored locally on your device (chrome.storage.local) and are never sent to the developer. • The only data that leaves your browser is the post content you choose to analyze, sent directly to the AI provider you configured. Nothing is routed through any developer-owned server. No analytics, no tracking. REQUIREMENTS • A Nextdoor account with moderator access (the moderation queue is only visible to moderators). • Your own OpenAI or Anthropic API key. This extension is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nextdoor. It is an independent tool to assist moderators. Every final decision rests with the human moderator.
