One-liner DateTimer is a Chrome extension that pins "the moments worth waiting for" to a corner of your browser — days-matter counters, countdowns, a lunar calendar, and holiday & workday badges, one click away. 2. Product Overview · Form factor: Chrome / Edge extension. Click the toolbar icon for the popup, or dock it in the browser Side Panel · Works out of the box: ships with sample timers (payday, rent day, shipped), plus quick-add templates (payday, weekend, next holiday) in the empty state · Your data stays yours: everything lives in browser-local storage and Chrome sync. No accounts, no servers, no tracking. Sign into the same Chrome profile and your timers follow you across devices · Offline-first: core features work fully offline; holiday data is built in, with an optional remote refresh that degrades gracefully when unreachable · Version: v2.1.0, backed by 113 unit tests 3. Core Capabilities (1) Countdowns — built for every deadline · One-off timers with custom colors and multiple display formats; optional deep links for flash sales · Recurring timers — payday, rent, weekly standups — auto-roll to the next occurrence and never expire · Pin mode: pin any timer and it lives large at the top of the popup · Pre-reminders per item (minute- or day-level), delivered as system notifications even when the popup is closed · Click a notification to jump straight to the item with a highlight pulse; link notifications carry an "Open link" button and stay until handled · Per-item time zones — overseas launches and cross-region flash sales fire on time · Toolbar badge counts down the nearest timer, ticking per-second in the final hour — a glance without opening anything (2) Days Matter — "Day 930 together" · Counts up from a start date: "930 days together", "2 years 7 months in", "Mom turns 56" · Smart units combine years, months and days automatically — no more counting hundreds of days · Pill units: N / Day-N in weeks, months or years, "N yrs old", or your own words ("together", "shipped") with live preview while editing · Anniversary reminders on by default — birthdays and anniversaries never slip by · Lunar support: start on a lunar date and recur every lunar year, so traditional birthdays land on time (3) Lunar Calendar — the whole picture at a glance · Hand-built month grid: lunar dates, rest/work badges, holiday emoji, and a next-holiday countdown · Tap a day: details, existing timers, and one-tap creation of a countdown for that day · Fast year/month picker behind the calendar title · Built-in holiday and make-up-workday data (2017–2026), fully offline (4) Data You Can Trust · One-click JSON export and import — move machines without losing anything · Auto-snapshots before every import, clear and restore — mistakes are rollback-able · Cross-device sync of timers, theme and language via Chrome sync · Hardened import: corrupt or tampered backup files are safely rejected (5) Craft Details · Light & dark themes (auto + manual), bilingual ZH/EN, no-flash theme switching · Collapsible layout: calendar and list fold away; the most compact mode is a single clock line · Share cards: turn any timer into an image in one click · Postpone ended items by +1 day or +1 week; clearing ended items is undoable · Click the clock to copy the current time; a snow easter egg 4. Use Cases · Flash sales: countdown + notification deep link, badge ticking per-second in the final hour · Work rhythm: payday, rent, standups and release days on auto-roll with pre-reminders · Life milestones: birthdays (lunar too), anniversaries, baby day-counters, auto-incrementing age · Holiday planning: next-holiday countdown; holidays and make-up workdays at a glance · Project management: pin the deadline, per-item time zones for distributed teams 5. Engineering & Quality · Manifest V3 service worker schedules notifications and the badge; events missed while asleep are caught up on wake · 113 unit tests covering core logic · Privacy: data lives only in browser-local storage and Chrome sync; zero external requests beyond the optional holiday and announcement config refresh
