Description
An endless first-person raycast shooter with a rear-view mirror. Runs entirely offline. Hold the line in an endless, retro first-person shooter, and keep one eye on the mirror, because they come from behind. Rearguard is a fast arcade survival shooter in the spirit of classic 90s corridor shooters. A small circular rear-view mirror in the corner shows everything behind you in real time, so you can see a pack closing in before it reaches you. YOUR GUNS FIRE THEMSELVES Every weapon you own fires automatically. Your job is to move, aim and survive. Start with the Pulse Rifle and roll into the Scattergun, the Nova Emitter that fires in every direction at once, and the piercing Rail Lance — all firing together. LEVEL UP WITHOUT STOPPING Monsters drop energy. Fill the bar and a slot reel spins up a random ability — more health, faster firing, stronger shots, piercing rounds, critical hits and more — without ever pausing the fight. Supply crates roll abilities too, and rare potions patch you up. THREE LEVELS, ELEVEN BOSSES • The Dungeon — brick halls stalked by imps, skeletons and mummies. Bosses: the Titan, Medusa and the Dragon. • The Park — open lawns in broad daylight with werewolves, spiders and slimes. Bosses: the Hydra, the Black Dragon, the Cyclops and the Death Worm. • The Mansion — a maze of looping corridors full of ogres, evil pigs, aliens and ghosts. Bosses: Dracula, the Yeti, the Minotaur and the Demon. Reach level 15 and defeat a boss to open a portal to the next level. A boss wakes every 100 kills, and every one you defeat doubles the health of everything that follows. Monsters hunt you from anywhere on the map, there is no where to hide.
