Description
Verify Ed25519-signed factual claims on any web page. Scans for [data-citesig] attributes and shows verification badges inline. CiteSig Verifier reads any web page for factual claims that carry a CiteSig cryptographic signature and shows you inline whether each one is genuinely signed by the source it claims to come from. WHAT IT DOES • Scans the page for HTML elements with a data-citesig attribute (the CiteSig attestation format) • Verifies the Ed25519 signature locally using your browser's WebCrypto API • Renders a small colored badge next to each claim: green ✓ for verified, red ✗ for invalid, yellow ? for unresolvable, gray ! for malformed • Click any badge to open an inspector showing the claim text, signer identifier (did:key), timestamp, and source list • Toolbar popup shows a per-page rollup: how many claims were found and their verification status HOW IT'S DIFFERENT • Fully offline verification — no server calls, no lookups, no telemetry • All cryptographic work runs in your browser via the standard WebCrypto API • One permission (activeTab) — the extension only sees the tab you're currently focused on • No account, no sign-up, no configuration • Open source (MIT) — https://github.com/citesig/verifier-extension PRIVACY Zero data collection. The extension makes no HTTP, HTTPS, or WebSocket requests to any server.
