AI Assistant — Your AI Companion for the Web AI Assistant is a browser side-panel extension designed to help you understand, analyze, summarize, translate, and interact with web content without leaving the page you are viewing. Work with your current webpage, selected text, or attached files while keeping the AI assistant open beside your browser. Choose your preferred AI model and language, customize how the assistant responds, and keep your conversations available locally for later use. KEY FEATURES • Current Webpage AI Ask questions about the webpage you are currently viewing. When page context is enabled, the assistant can use the current webpage as context to answer questions and perform content-related tasks. • Quick Page Actions Use convenient actions directly above the question box: Summarize · Translate · Explain · Key Points These actions automatically use the current webpage as context, even when normal page-context reading is disabled. • Browser Context-Menu AI Select text on any webpage and right-click to access AI actions such as: Summarize · Translate · Explain · Fact Check The selected text is passed to the requested AI operation without requiring you to copy and paste it manually. • Attached Files Ask questions about supported attached files and use file content as additional context for your AI requests. • Custom Prompts Configure your own custom prompt to control the assistant's response style, behavior, or preferred instructions. • Multiple AI Models Choose from available AI models and configure the appropriate provider/API settings according to your setup. • Conversation History Keep your conversations in locally stored history so you can return to previous topics. Conversation history can be managed directly from the Side Panel. • Local Backup and Restore Back up your conversation history to a local ZIP file and restore it later when needed. • Persistent Chrome Side Panel Use the assistant alongside the webpage without opening a separate tab or window. The Side Panel remains available while you browse, making it convenient to ask questions and work with page content. • Automatic Page Context Refresh The extension detects changes to the active tab and navigation so page-related requests use the current webpage rather than content from a previously viewed page. • Voice Input Use voice input for questions, including English and Mandarin speech. • Multilingual Interface The extension interface supports multiple languages, including English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish. The preferred translation language can also be configured separately. • Markdown Conversation Rendering AI responses support Markdown formatting for clearer conversations, including formatted text, lists, links, and other supported content. • Local User Preferences Extension settings such as language preferences, custom prompts, model configuration, and conversation history are stored locally through Chrome's storage facilities. PRIVACY AND DATA CONTROL AI Assistant is designed to give users control over when webpage content is used as AI context. When webpage reading is enabled or a page-related action is explicitly requested, the extension can retrieve the content required for that operation and send it to the AI provider configured by the user. When webpage reading is disabled, ordinary questions are treated as independent requests and the extension does not use the current webpage as context. The extension does not use webpage access for advertising, behavioral tracking, or browsing-history collection. Conversation history and preferences are stored locally in the browser unless information is explicitly sent to a configured AI service as part of a user request. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open the AI Assistant from the Chrome Side Panel. 2. Ask a question or select a quick action. 3. Enable current-page context when you want the webpage included. 4. Select text on a webpage and use the AI options from the browser context menu when needed. 5. Choose and configure the AI model and other preferences in Settings. 6. Continue the conversation without leaving the webpage. AI Assistant is built for users who want practical AI assistance while browsing, researching, reading documentation, translating content, analyzing information, and working with online material.
