A tool for scraping and processing opportunity data for the Runwei platform 🔍 Description The Runwei™ Opportunity Capture Extension is a powerful browser tool designed to help users automatically discover, scrape, verify, and submit opportunity data from across the web — in just a few clicks. Built to support the mission of Runwei™ in empowering underrepresented entrepreneurs, this extension streamlines the process of aggregating opportunity data from diverse sources like business websites, social media platforms, and shared online content. 🚨 The Problem We're Solving Runwei™ currently has backend tools that help aggregate opportunities. However, the manual steps still required — from verifying scraped content to correcting broken media URLs — reduce the efficiency and reliability of the data. Human review is time-consuming, error-prone, and difficult to scale. For example: • Scraped links often include broken image URLs (e.g., logos). • Inconsistent formatting or missing fields require admins to manually clean entries. • New opportunities on websites and social media often go undetected. 💡 Our Solution This browser extension, along with a companion mobile app, solves these challenges by providing: • A fast and accurate way to capture opportunity data from any web source. • Automated scraping and processing that extracts relevant details and verifies their validity. • A seamless interface to preview, edit, and submit opportunities directly into the Runwei™ system. • An efficient, scalable workflow to empower data collectors, volunteers, and community contributors. ⚙️ Key Features ✅ Smart Scraping • Automatically identifies and extracts opportunity-related data from webpages and platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and more. • Supports both structured and unstructured content. ✅ Verification and Correction • Detects broken image links and inaccessible resources. • Flags and allows quick corrections before final submission. ✅ One-Click Submission • Streamlined interface enables opportunity submission in three clicks or less. • Built-in form preview to ensure data quality before posting to Runwei™. ✅ Cross-Platform Sync • Works alongside our mobile app for unified experience across desktop and mobile. • Centralized API integration to maintain consistency across devices. ✅ User-Friendly Interface • Minimalist, intuitive popup UI for quick access. • Works on any page — no configuration required. 🔐 Privacy & Permissions This extension only scrapes content manually initiated by the user, with full transparency. It does not collect any browsing history, login credentials, or personal data unless explicitly provided by the user for submission. Permissions are limited to: • Accessing page content (to scrape structured/unstructured data) • Making authenticated requests to the Runwei™ platform • Local storage for caching scraped results 💼 Use Case Examples • A volunteer discovers a new accelerator program on a startup blog and submits it instantly using the extension. • A team member reviewing Twitter finds a grant opportunity and submits it with all details and media in seconds. • Admins reduce cleanup time by receiving pre-verified, high-quality submissions from users across the globe. 📈 Impact With this browser extension, Runwei™ will: • Reduce manual overhead by over 60% for data collection. • Improve accuracy and consistency of scraped data. • Enable crowdsourced opportunity discovery at scale. • Increase the reach and accessibility of vital opportunities for underserved communities.
