Inspect image values with grayscale, squint blur, value steps, comparisons, and a temporary reference tray. Value Viewer is an image value-analysis tool designed for artists, photographers, illustrators, and visual designers. Instead of inverting colors, Value Viewer removes color distractions so you can focus on value structure, lighting, contrast, shadow shapes, and dark-area details. Key features: Individual image grayscale Right-click an image to convert only that image to grayscale without changing the rest of the page. Hold Alt + V to preview Hover over an image and hold Alt + V to temporarily view it in grayscale. Release the keys to restore its previous state. Value Compare Open a dedicated comparison page with the original image on the left and an adjustable analysis view on the right. Multiple comparison modes The analysis view supports: Full grayscale 7 Values 5 Values 3 Values Light Squint Blur Medium Squint Blur Heavy Squint Blur Squint Blur Simulates the way artists squint at an image to suppress details and reveal its larger light-and-dark shapes. Value Steps Reduce continuous grayscale into 7, 5, or 3 value levels to evaluate tonal grouping, readability, and visual hierarchy. Temporary Reference Tray Add web images to a browser side panel for quick thumbnail access, enlarged previews, and original/grayscale switching. Session-only storage References disappear when cleared manually or when the browser session ends. Fit and actual-size viewing Value Compare fits images using both the available width and height. Actual-size mode provides synchronized scrolling between both views.
