A minimalist notepad that lives in your Chrome sidebar Ren is a fast, minimalist notepad that lives in your Chrome side panel. It’s always a click away, never in your way. Open it, start writing. No accounts, no setup, no clutter. Ren opens instantly in the side panel and stays available while you browse. Capture thoughts, draft ideas, take notes while researching, or simply get something out of your head. Write naturally and let Ren format as you type: • `#` for headings • `-` and `1.` for lists • `[]` for checklists • `>` for quotes • `---` for dividers Prefer clicking? The formatting toolbar, along with Ctrl+B, Ctrl+I, and Ctrl+U, gives you bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, and inline code. Everything you'd expect, nothing you wouldn't • Unlimited notes with titles • Instant search across your notes • Auto-save as you type • Light, dark, and system themes • Full keyboard shortcuts • Word and character count • JSON export and import for backups Your notes stay on your device. Ren requires no account and uses no servers, tracking, or analytics. Your notes are yours. Inspired by tools like Notion, Obsidian, and Apple Notes, Ren is designed to be intentional, quiet, and quick. A focused place to think without pulling you away from what you're doing. Open the side panel and start writing.
