Convert, compress and translate images, PDFs and documents. 103 of the 126 tools never upload your file. FileHugger puts 126 file tools one keystroke from wherever you already are. Right-click a picture on any page to convert it, compress it, resize it, or read the text out of it. Drop a file into the toolbar popup and it opens on filehugger.com with the file already loaded. Type "fh" and a space in the address bar to search every tool without leaving the keyboard. 103 of those 126 tools never upload your file. They run as compiled WebAssembly inside your own browser tab, so the file is read, converted and handed back without leaving the machine. The other 23 genuinely need a server — a full office engine, a media encoder, a translation service — and the site names every one of them rather than rounding the claim off. Each tool page says, before you start, where your file is processed and what the conversion does not carry over. WHAT YOU CAN DO Photos. Turn the HEIC pictures an iPhone produces into something every website will actually accept. Shrink an image that is too large to attach, cap its dimensions, crop or rotate it, put a watermark on it, or pull the words out of a screenshot. PDFs. Merge several documents into one, split one into parts, rotate pages that were scanned sideways, compress a file down to an upload limit, add or remove a password, black something out permanently, sign a page, or convert it into a document you can edit. Office documents and e-books. Word processor files, spreadsheets, presentations, e-books, plain text and subtitle files all convert both ways. Translation. 26 languages, free, across eight kinds of file — and the fonts, tables and page layout survive the trip, which is the part that usually does not. Video and audio. Convert a clip into a format that will play where you need it, or lift the audio out of it. No account. No watermark. No paid tier. PERMISSIONS, AND WHY Context menus and storage — the right-click entries, and remembering the last few tools you used. Nothing else is stored, and nothing leaves the extension. Access to a website you right-click an image on — asked for only at the moment you convert an image, only for that one site, and only when the image cannot be read without it. Say no and the tool page still opens; you drop the file in yourself. This extension has no analytics, no tracking, no remote code and no servers of its own. It is a shortcut to a website.
