Study with YouTube: the video pauses when your attention drifts, plus transcripts, subtitles and a word library. Lingram — measure your attention, maintain your focus. Language learning tool: full transcripts of videos in your native language, word-by-word highlighting while playing, and a personal library of unknown words. For each video, you can get unknown words, a video summary, and the full transcript as a PDF output. You can create organized, useful lists by category that match your interests, both for self-improvement and language learning. ───────────────────────────────────────── WHAT IT DOES ───────────────────────────────────────── FOCUS TRACKING (camera, optional) Lingram uses your webcam to tell whether you are actually looking at the video. When your attention drifts, the video pauses. When you come back, it resumes from where you left. Nothing is lost, nothing is re-watched. Three sensitivity levels, switchable from a button on the player: • Strict — 12° head tolerance, pauses after 0.7 s. For exams and hard study. • Balanced — 20°, 1.8 s. Everyday use. (default) • Relaxed — 32°, 4 s. For watching in the background. You choose what happens when you drift: • Pause and resume automatically • Pause only • Warn only — the video keeps playing, the moment is just recorded The camera is entirely optional. Turn it off and every other feature keeps working. SYSTEM FOCUS (no camera needed) Switch to another tab, another window, or another application and the video pauses. Come back and it continues. This works without any camera permission at all — for many people it is the only feature they need. TRANSCRIPTS AND SUBTITLES Press T and the full transcript opens beside the video. Press E for the subtitle strip over the player. • Always in the video's own language. If you have YouTube's auto-translate switched on, Lingram still gives you the original — not a machine translation of it. • Word-level highlighting, karaoke style, so you can follow along at speed. • Jump sentence by sentence, loop a passage, slow it down to 0.75× or 0.6× without the pitch going strange. • "Blind listening" mode hides the subtitles so you can test yourself, with a one-key reveal when you get stuck. WORD AND PHRASE LIBRARY Hover a word to see its meaning. Press V to mark a word you did not know, B to save a whole phrase. They collect in your library, with meanings written in your native language — not English-by-default. If your native language is German and you are studying Spanish, you get Spanish → German. The pairing follows you, not the interface. VIDEO LISTS • Add any video from the player, or right-click any thumbnail anywhere on YouTube. • Categories, favourites, drag-to-reorder, sort by publish date. • Auto Play walks through a list in order. • Open the panel over the player without leaving the page. REPORTS A focus score from 0 to 100, by week, month or year: • Focus ratio (60%) — how much of your time at the video was actually focused • Continuity (25%) — how often you drifted • Deep focus (15%) — your longest unbroken stretch The score is measured in wall-clock time, not video time. The question is not "how much of the video did you watch" but "how much of the time you spent at it were you actually there". Some deliberate choices in how it counts: • Time you paused by hand is never counted against you. That is a decision, not a lapse. • Breaks longer than five minutes stop the counter. Getting up from your desk is not "poor focus". • Under two minutes of data in a day produces no score at all.
