Smoothly fast-forwards (2×–16×) through sponsor segments on YouTube instead of jump-cutting past them. Community segment data. Sponsor Fast Forward speeds smoothly through the sponsor read instead of jump-cutting past it. Some people prefer a quick 2×–16× scrub — you still see it go by, you keep your bearings, and you don't get yanked forward by a hard cut. It's the "fast-forward, don't skip" option the popular skip tools don't offer. How it works • When a video reaches a sponsor segment, playback speeds up (you choose 2×, 3×, 4×, 8×, or 16×) and — if you like — mutes, then returns to normal at the end. • A small on-screen pill shows what's happening, with one-tap "Skip" and "Keep 1×" buttons. • Segment timings come from the community SponsorBlock database. 🔒 Private by design • Your video ID never leaves your device. To look up segments, only the first 4 characters of a one-way hash of the video ID are sent — a technique (k-anonymity) that can't identify the video or you. • No analytics, no tracking, no accounts. • Minimal Manifest V3 permissions: local settings storage, plus network access to the SponsorBlock segment server only. • Read-only: the extension never submits or votes on segments. ⚙️ Yours to tune • Pick the fast-forward speed (2× to 16×) • Choose which categories to fast-forward (sponsor, self-promo, reminders, intro, outro, and more) • Mute during fast-forward (on/off) • Ignore very short segments 🎬 Stays out of the way • Does nothing during live streams or ads • If you grab the speed control yourself mid-segment, it hands control back and leaves your setting alone Free, with no paid tier — the segment data is community-contributed under a non-commercial license, and this extension honors that.
