Lightweight HTTP client & REST API tester for Chrome. Send requests and debug APIs without leaving the tab. Pico API is a small, fast REST client that lives in your Chrome side panel. Send requests, inspect responses, capture live network traffic, and debug APIs — all without leaving the tab you're working in. WHY PICO API Most API tools force you into a separate app or a full browser tab. Pico API rides shotgun in the Chrome side panel: click the toolbar icon, the panel slides open, you send a request, you close the panel. Nothing to context-switch out of. It's the smallest meaningful unit of a REST client that still feels useful. FEATURES • Tree-structured collection — organize saved requests into folders (up to 5 levels deep). Drag to reorder, rename in place, search across the whole tree. • Full request builder — every HTTP method, headers, query params, and body formats (form-urlencoded, raw JSON, raw XML, raw text). Auto-detects Content-Type. Smart syntax highlighting. • Live response viewer — pretty-printed JSON, syntax-highlighted raw, or a collapsible tree view with copy-path on every node. Status, timing breakdown (DNS / connect / TLS / wait / receive), response size, MIME type, and Set-Cookie headers are surfaced separately so nothing hides. • Network capture — attach the Chrome debugger to any tab and watch every Fetch/XHR the page makes, live. Replay any captured request into the editor with one click. Filter API-only or all-traffic modes. The debugger attaches only while a capture session is active and detaches the instant you stop or close the tab. • Environments & variables — define {{baseUrl}}, {{apiKey}}, anything you like, scoped per environment. Variables render live in the URL bar with subtle highlighting. Switch environments from the sidebar or with a keyboard shortcut. • Import & export — paste a cURL command, drop in an OpenAPI document, or import a Postman Collection; we'll reconstruct the requests. Export your whole collection back to OpenAPI for sharing. • History — every request you've sent is kept (capped) with full request + response, so you can resend or diff against a later run. • Templates — save a request as a template and stamp out new ones pre-filled. • Keyboard-first — ⌘⇧P opens the command palette, ⌘⇧H opens history, ⌘⇧K switches environments, ⌘⏎ sends the request. The whole UI is navigable without a mouse. • Light / Dark / Eye-comfort themes — three themes tuned for long debugging sessions, with the brand's signature teal accent. PRIVACY Pico API runs entirely on your machine. No analytics, no telemetry, no third-party scripts. Your saved requests, environments, and history live in your browser's IndexedDB and never leave it. The capture feature attaches Chrome's debugger only to a tab you explicitly choose, only while a capture session is active, and captured traffic lives in memory only — it's gone the moment you stop.
