See where your browser time actually goes: say your purpose when you open a site, confirm whether it matched when you leave. You checked one thing. Then lost 40 minutes. Purpose Ratio is a free Chrome extension that helps you see when browser time stops matching what you meant to do. Most screen-time tools count minutes. Purpose Ratio tracks something more useful: the gap between your intent and what actually happened. Here is the loop: 1. Choose the sites you want to track: pick sites where time tends to slip, like YouTube, Reddit, X, news, or anything else you choose. 2. Say what you came to do: when you open a tracked site, Purpose Ratio asks what you meant to do there. 3. Confirm what happened: when you leave, mark whether the session matched your purpose: yes, kind of, or no. 4. See the pattern: over time, you can see where your browser time matched your intent, where it drifted, and which sites quietly turn into detours. Purpose Ratio is not a blocker. It does not lock you out of websites. It does not set guilt timers. It does not use streaks or shame language. It gives you a clear record of what you meant to do against what actually happened, so a pattern you could not see becomes one you can. Purpose Ratio tracks session boundaries, not page contents. It records timing and site names for the sites you choose. It does not read messages, comments, passwords, or what you type. Your history stays in your browser’s local storage until you export it or uninstall the extension. If you want to keep your history, export it first. What you get: * A daily ratio showing how much tracked time matched your purpose * A 7-day trend so one day becomes part of a pattern * A breakdown by site * A simple session history * Export and import in plain JSON * A downloadable diagnostic log if something ever looks wrong Add it. Pick one site. See where the week actually goes.
