Lite Bookmark Manager is a fast, private way to organize the bookmarks you already have. Chrome's built-in bookmarks page is fine for saving a link and almost useless for tidying up years of them. This extension gives you real search, real bulk editing and real cleanup tools - without an account, without a cloud service, and without sending anything anywhere. WHAT IT DOES - Instant search. Type and see matches across titles, addresses and folder names, with the full folder path shown for every result. - Full folder tree. Expand, collapse, and drag and drop to reorganize. - Bulk actions. Select many bookmarks at once and move, open or delete them together. - Duplicate finder. Spot the same page saved more than once, including copies whose addresses differ only by tracking parameters, and clear the extras in one pass. - Empty folder cleanup. Find and remove the folders left behind. - Broken link checker. An optional scan that flags bookmarks pointing at pages that no longer exist. - Quick save. Add the page you are on to any folder from the toolbar or with a keyboard shortcut. - Sorting. Order any folder A-Z, by date added, or by website. - Import and export. Back up to a standard bookmarks HTML file or to JSON, entirely on your own computer. - Undo. Deletes, bulk moves and re-sorts can be reversed, and the last 20 changes are kept. - Dark mode. Light, dark, or follow your system setting. - Keyboard friendly. Navigate and act without touching the mouse. PRIVACY, PLAINLY This bookmark manager runs entirely inside your browser. - No account and no sign-up. - No servers. Your bookmarks are never uploaded. - No analytics, no tracking, no advertising. - No website access is requested when you install it. The only optional permission belongs to the broken link checker: it is requested at the moment you start a scan, used only to see whether a page still responds, and revocable from Settings at any time. - Works offline. Site icons are drawn from the icon cache Google Chrome(TM) already keeps on your device, so even those cost you no network request. WHAT IS STORED ON YOUR DEVICE Your settings, your five most recent save folders, which folders you have expanded, and an undo journal of the last 20 changes. The undo journal has to remember what was deleted in order to put it back, so it holds those titles and addresses until you clear it. You can erase it whenever you like from Settings, under Recent changes. None of it is ever uploaded. WHY "LITE" Because a bookmark manager should open instantly and then get out of the way. There is no framework, no background syncing and no dashboard to log into - just your bookmarks, organized. PERMISSIONS, AND WHY EACH ONE EXISTS - Bookmarks. To read, create, rename, move and delete your bookmarks. This is the entire job of the extension. - Storage. To remember your preferences and the undo history on your device. - Favicon. To show site icons from the cache your browser already keeps, instead of fetching them online. - Active tab. Only when you press "Save this page", to read that page's title and address. - Website access. Optional, never requested at install, and used only by the broken link checker.
