Codec Studio converts data and models between formats — right inside your browser, with nothing ever sent anywhere. EIGHT FORMATS, ANY COMBINATION Codec Studio reads and writes two data formats and six popular programming languages, all convertible with one another — 56 combinations in total, without a hand-written converter for every pair. A few things that solves day to day: • Got a document from an API and need the classes? Generate them in the language you use. • Have a model ready and want a sample payload? Go the other way. • Porting a service from one language to another? The translation preserves types, nesting and each language's own naming conventions. • Need the same model in another config format? Converting between data formats keeps your actual values — it doesn't generate a sample. WHAT IT ACTUALLY UNDERSTANDS • Real type inference: integers, decimals, ISO dates, UUIDs, lists and dictionaries • Objects inside the same array are merged into one class; fields missing from some items become nullable types • Every language gets its own idiom: records and Jackson in Java, JsonPropertyName in C#, json tags in Go, CodingKeys in Swift, null safety and fromJson/toJson in Dart, interfaces in TypeScript • Keys that break naming conventions (full_name, created_at) become valid identifiers with the right annotation, so the mapping never breaks • TypeScript literal unions become real enums in the other languages • Go initialisms follow the language style guide: ID and URL, not Id and Url BASE64 WITH CORRECT UTF-8 • Accents, CJK and emoji survive the round trip • Standard or URL-safe alphabet, optional padding and MIME wrapping at 76 columns • Binary content becomes a readable hex dump with an ASCII column • Errors point at the exact offending character PRIVACY BY CONSTRUCTION This extension ships with NO PERMISSIONS AT ALL. On install, Chrome tells you it requests access to nothing — and it means it: • No access to your tabs, history, cookies or downloads • No content scripts: it cannot read any page you visit • No background process: nothing runs while the window is closed • No network: the content security policy (connect-src 'none') makes the browser itself block any connection • No analytics, no telemetry, no accounts, no ads • No remote code: everything that runs is inside the package • Your text is never stored — only your preferences are kept locally Not even the parsers are third-party: JSON, YAML and all six languages are read by our own auditable code, with zero dependencies.
