Automatically put newly created tabs into groups using prioritized rules. Give every new tab a place. Tab Auto Group automatically puts newly created tabs into Chrome tab groups using URL rules you control. Create named groups, choose their initial colors, and add website patterns. Rules are checked from top to bottom; the first match decides the group. FEATURES - Match URLs with simple * wildcards, such as *://github.com/*. - Reorder rules by dragging or using the up and down buttons. - Reuse matching group names independently in each window. - Append new tabs to the end of their target group. - Keep manual group color changes; colors apply only when creating a group. - Sync rules and settings with Chrome Sync, subject to your Chrome sync settings. - Turn automatic grouping on or off from the popup. - Use the interface in English or Simplified Chinese. GET STARTED 1. Open the extension and select Manage rules. 2. Add a group, such as Development. 3. Add *://github.com/* and choose Development as its target. 4. Open a GitHub link in a new tab to see it grouped automatically. You can add a final * rule for a catch-all group. Place specific rules above it. DESIGNED FOR NEW TABS Each new tab is matched once, using its first available non-empty URL. Existing tabs are not reorganized, and later navigation or redirects do not trigger another match. Opening a blank tab and then typing an address may therefore differ from opening a link directly in a new tab. The extension does not actively reorder entire groups. PRIVACY URL matching happens in your browser. The extension does not send browsing URLs to the developer, run analytics, or inject scripts into websites. Your configured rules, group names, colors, and enable settings are stored using Chrome Sync. No separate account is needed for the extension.
