Draft replies, adjust tone, and summarize email threads in Gmail using Claude. Gmail AI Assistant adds a small AI-powered button directly inside Gmail's compose window, so you can improve your email drafts without leaving your inbox or copy-pasting into a separate chat app. HOW IT WORKS While writing an email, click the sparkle button that appears in your compose window. Choose a quick action — Improve Writing, Make Shorter, Make Formal, Make Friendly — or type your own custom instruction (e.g. "add a polite follow-up line" or "translate to Spanish"). Your draft is rewritten in place, instantly. SETUP This extension requires a free Anthropic API key (console.anthropic.com) to function. Click the extension icon after installing to enter your key. Your key is stored only in your browser's local extension storage and is never sent to us — it's used only to call Anthropic's API directly from your browser.
