Speed-read selected text one word at a time. Text stays on-device; optional license checks send only your key. Read the selection. Stay on the page. Shift RSVP turns text you choose on a webpage into a focused, one-word-at-a-time reader. Select a passage and press Shift+R or click the toolbar icon. Reading starts in a calm overlay on the same page. SELECT EXACTLY WHAT TO READ Shift RSVP reads only the text you deliberately select. It does not scan the full page, monitor the clipboard, or guess which part of an article matters. CONTROL THE PACE Start at 300 words per minute, then adjust from 120 to 900 WPM. Sentence punctuation gets a little more time. The free tier includes three complete reading runs per local day. KEEP YOUR HANDS ON THE KEYBOARD Use Shift+R to start, Space to pause, the arrow keys to move or change speed, R to restart, and Escape to close. The toolbar and selection context menu are there when you prefer the mouse. Shift+R does nothing when no readable text is selected or while you are typing. PRIVATE READING Selected text is processed in memory in the current tab. It is not sent anywhere, retained, used for analytics, or made available to the publisher.
