LeanThreads helps keep long AI Chat conversations responsive by reducing how much conversation history the chat page has to render at once. Long chats can become slow because the browser has to keep rendering and managing a growing message history. LeanThreads keeps the active chat view focused on a configurable number of recent messages, while older context remains available through a local context drawer. Privacy-first behavior: - Conversation content is processed locally in your browser - Raw transcript snapshots stay in tab memory while enabled - Settings and aggregate counts use extension storage - Exports are created only when you choose to export - Citation markers and session-local artifact links are cleaned from default exports LeanThreads does not change Chat’s model, account, subscription, or server-side history. It only changes how much of the conversation is rendered in the browser UI and gives you local tools for browsing and exporting context.
